About Kumar Sreekanti, Co-founder and CEO — BlueData

Kumar is the co-founder and CEO of BlueData, an infrastructure software company focused making it easier, faster, and more cost-effective to deploy big data on-premises. The BlueData software platform leverages virtualization and container technology to enable Big-Data-as-a-Service in an on-premises deployment model.

Prior to co-founding BlueData, Kumar was vice president of R&D at VMware where he was responsible for Storage and Availability in the Cloud Infrastructure Business Unit. Kumar's responsibilities included VSAN, Virtual Volumes, Virtual Flash, Virtual Storage Appliance, SRM (Site Recovery Manager), High Availability, SMP-FT, and Virtual Storage Fabric. Before VMware, Kumar was the founding CEO and CTO of Agami Systems, a high-performance, distributed NAS company.

Earlier, Kumar was vice president of Engineering and Operations for Akamai Technologies where he responsible for the Streaming Business Unit. Earlier in his career, Kumar held senior technical and engineering management positions with Adaptec, Mylex, and Seagate.

Kumar is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur where he studied Electronics and Electrical Engineering.

About Michael A. Greene, VP, Software and Services Group — Intel

Michael Greene is Intel Vice President and General Manager of the System Technologies & Optimization of Intel's Software and Services Group. Greene leads a worldwide organization responsible for a broad range of development, enabling, architecture analysis and optimization efforts including system firmware, virtual platforms, modeling and simulation solutions, power analysis, client/server and big data software stack optimizations for a "Best in Class" user experience.

Greene joined Intel in 1990, after graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has managed and led several new product developments, research efforts, and engineering groups. He has served as Intel’s initiative owner for power efficiency, pre silicon software development, and has driven new technology benchmarking throughout his career.

Outside Intel, Greene serves on the National GEM Consortium's (GEM) Executive Committee as the Marketing Vice President. GEM is a national non-profit providing programming and full fellowships to support the number of under-represented individuals who pursue a master's or doctorate degree in science or engineering.
