Make Goals and Plans
If you want to know a surefire way to fail, then refuse to make plans. Having life goals and working to map out plans to reach those goals is the very first step to living The Incremental Life.
The French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupery once said, “A goal without a plan is just a wish, a hope likely to fail and impossible to attain. Give passionate dreaming a structure, and reality moves to the tips of your fingers faster than you can click your heels and say, ‘there’s no dream like mine.’”
It’s ridiculously simple common sense, but don’t lose sight of this fact: You can’t arrive unless you know where you’re going.
Today is the day to start writing out your goals and chart out the steps to get there. Stop making excuses. Refusing to plan is the same as refusing to take responsibility for your life.
