Keep Calm and Write On

Posting has been in a bit of a lull so far this week, and will be until at least the middle of next week. It’s all good. Many things are happening behind the scenes, some I can talk about, some I can’t.

I’ve finished the second revision of a short story entitled The Nascent. It needs at least one more going over with a fine-toothed comb before submission to “The World’s Greatest Fantasy Writing Contest.” This contest is run by the good folks over at Fantasy Faction, and the winning entries will be published in their forthcoming anthology alongside some of the best known authors in the genre.

I’m also about two-thirds of the way through my second revision on the first novel in my high-fantasy trilogy, The Swords of Xigara. More news about that will follow in the future.

Meanwhile, I threw together a new computer wallpaper to help inspire me to keep on keeping on. Sometimes the best thing a writer can do is persevere, no matter how the task of writing is going.

I’ve seen variations of this desktop around, but I wanted it in red, and wanted a MacBook for the icon. Unable to find a suitable rendition, I created my own.
