Sebastopol, CA—Discover how the world's most data-driven organizations use Project Jupyter to analyze their data, share their insights, and create dynamic, reproducible data science at the inaugural JupyterCon, August 22-25, 2017, in New York City. The call for presenters invites interested speakers to submit proposals for JupyterCon, which is presented by Project Jupyter, the NumFOCUS Foundation, and O'Reilly Media.
Jupyter Notebooks offer an immensely powerful, interactive tool for sharing and communicating data analysis. Notebooks and other open source Jupyter tools can solve issues of communicating data to management, create self-documenting and future-friendly apps and widgets, and transform workflows and organizations.
"Project Jupyter is an effort over 15 years in the making. What began as IPython while I was a student has evolved into a cross-language platform for data science, research, and education, thanks to the tireless work of an incredible community. JupyterCon will be our first conference, an opportunity for this community to come together to learn from each other, spur new ideas and set directions for the project's future evolution. I can't wait to see what new and unexpected things are being done with these tools, and where we will go from here," says Fernando Perez, who chairs JupyterCon with Andrew Odewahn, O'Reilly's CTO.
JupyterCon focuses on real-world practices and how to successfully implement interactive computation in workflow and projects. The program presents best practices for modern, collaborative, and reproducible data science; intriguing new use cases; and the necessary expertise for transforming workflows using Jupyter Notebooks. Data scientists, researchers, educators, developers, scientists, and core Project contributors and tool creators are invited to learn more about the opportunities possible with Project Jupyter's platform.
The deadline to submit a proposal is March 7, 2017, with registration opening in April, 2017.
